Positano, sea and fashion

Positano is the first town of the Amalfi Coast one reaches starting out from Naples: it welcomes who wants to admire the Divine Coast with its beaches, views and breathtaking colours.

The town is famous for its shops and artisanal boutiques: shopping in Positano is a joy especially for who wants to update their wardrobe with clothing patterned after the features of the Coast, and individually tailored footwear.

What to see

Obviously Positano has many beaches where one can take a refreshing dive in the sea, or enjoy a drink at sunset. The two most popular beaches are Marina Grande Beach, close to discos and nightclubs in which to dance and have fun all night long, and the quieter Fornillo Beach for a more relaxing experience.

A monument present on every postcard of the town is the Church of Santa Maria Assunta, dating back to the X century with its spectacular dome covered in majolica. One of the relics most beloved by the locals is kept inside: a byzantine icon of the Virgin Mary.

For nature lovers, Positano is also touched by one of the most beautiful natural paths in all of Italy: Sentiero degli Dei, which gifts hikers with a fantastic view of the Coast allowing the eye to admire even the island of Capri. The path connects with the town of Agerola and is roughly 3 hours long: we strongly reccommend comfortable shoes.

How to get there:

Via car: travel on highway A3 Napoli-Salerno, exit at Castellamare di Stabia and follow the SS163 road until Positano.

With public transportation: EAV Circumvesuviana railway line from Napoli to Sorrento. Once at the Sorrento station, one can board a SITA bus going to Positano.

Via ferry: it is possibile to reach Positano via ferry or hydrofoil departing from Naples, Salerno or Sorrento.
