Itinerary

1. 8:30 AM: Departure from Naples

   • Private transfer from Naples by bus or minivan (depending on group size). During the trip, a tour leader will introduce the history of the Ager Nolano, a culturally rich area at the heart of ancient Campania Felix.

2. 9:30 AM: Visit to the Early Christian Basilicas of Cimitile

   • The Cimitile complex is one of the most important Early Christian centers in Europe. Guided by an expert, participants will explore ancient frescoes, mosaics, and the tombs of venerated saints, including Saint Felix.

3. 11:30 AM: Visit to the Bronze Age Village of Croce del Papa

   • This archaeological site preserves the remains of a Bronze Age village buried by the 1780 BC eruption of Mount Vesuvius. The guide will showcase the remains of huts and unique artifacts that reveal the life of a prehistoric community.

4. 1:30 PM: Traditional Lunch in Nola

   • Lunch at a local restaurant featuring Campania’s culinary delights:
     • Starter: Bruschetta with Piennolo cherry tomatoes and fresh ricotta.
     • Main Course: Gnocchi alla Sorrentina or spaghetti with clams.
     • Dessert: Babà or Pastiera.
     • Drinks included: Water, wine, and coffee.

5. 3:00 PM: Visit to the Historical-Archaeological Museum of Nola

   • The museum showcases artifacts narrating the history of Nola and the entire Ager Nolano, including sections dedicated to the Oscan, Roman, and medieval periods. Highlights include casts of victims from the AD 79 Vesuvius eruption and exhibits on the Festa dei Gigli, a UNESCO heritage event.

6. 5:00 PM: Return to Naples

   • Transfer by bus or minivan, arriving back in Naples around 6:00 PM.
